PRO-LIFE GROUP

Mondays 7pm

In the midst of anti-life issues such as the proposed Assisted Suicide Bill and the Marie Stopes advertisement on Channel 4, we saw a need to establish this group so as to spread and support the pro-life message.

We begin our meetings with 30 minues prayer before the Blessed Sacrament and then have some time to educate ourselves on life issues, before discuss future goals for the group. We will meet in the Day Chapel. All are welcome. For further information please contact Lizzie Bennett

YOUNG ADULTS GROUP (18 to 30's)

Wednesdays at 7.15pm

The Young Adults group is a lively group who meet weekly for discussion, prayer and music. If you are interested in deepening your faith further, please come along!

We start every meeting with a coffee & pizza (for those who haven't had their dinner as yet)  in the kitchen. This is a great opportunlty to meet and catch up on everyon'es news for the week. At abut 7.30pm we start our evening with some worship, normally accompanied by Fr. Keith on the guitar. Depending on what is happening that particular evening there might be some form of input. Over the years we have done bible study, faith sharing as will as run a number of different courses, including ALPHA, Catholicism 201 and the Life in the Spirit Seminars. After  the input we split into small groups for discussion and prayer. At the end we meet up for a final song.Young Adult Retreat in Tomintoul

As well as course-based evenings, we have had a few social events including a games night and a singing night!

Since the Young Adults group started in 2005 we have gone away on an annual retreat to Tomintoul, providing a great opportunity to build friendships and grow in our faith. In 2009 a group of us went to Craig Lodge in Dalmally for their Advent retreat. The surroundings were spectacular, with the best view from the top of a montain doing the stations of the cross.

CENACOLO PRAYER MEETING

Fridays 7pm

Cenacolo is the Italian word for "Cenacle"

The Cenacle was the upper room where Jesus gathered with his disciples, celebrated the Last Supper before he gave Himself in sacrifice on the cross. He shared His sacrificial love with His brothers, the apostles and showed this by washing their feet. He gave us the great commandment "Love one another as I have loved you". The first Cenacle was a sharing of fraternal charity and love. The Cenacle was also the place where the apostles gathered with Our Lady after Our Lord's Passion, Death and Resurrection to pray that the Holy Spirit would come and make them into new people. That is why the Holy Spirit as a dove is the motif for the Cenacolo Community.

The Cenacolo Community was founded in July 1983 by an Italian nun, Sister Elvira Petrozzi who wanted to give her life to God through helping those who have suffered from addictions and also other young people who have become disillusioned or dissatisfied with their lives. The Cenacolo today has about 60 houses spread throughout Italy and around the world. The ‘parent’ house is in Saluzzo in Northern Italy. There are houses are in France, Austria, Croatia, Bosnia Herzegovina (Medjugorje), USA, , Ireland (Knock), Poland, the UK, etc., and several Mission Houses in Mexico and South America. There are nearly 2000 persons in Community. There are separate houses for men and women with some family houses for those community members who wish to have their children with them.

At this meeting we ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten and heal, especially those suffering from addiction. If there is someone you would like to pray for or perhaps you just want to pray, you are intited to join us. For more information please contact Ann Ryans here or on (01224) 587 183.

AFRICAN COMMUNITY MASS

2nd Sunday of each month at 6pm

The Mass is organised by the African Catholic Community living in and around the Aberdeen City and is being celebrated for ALL (Africans, friends and associates of Africa and Africans, Roman Catholics and Christians of all denominations) BUT it is not an ecumenical service! The liturgy and order of the Mass are the same as in every other Sunday Mass, the only difference is that majority of the songs will be in major African languages. This is an opportunity to promote our catholic faith and African culture as well as encourage one another to continue in the faith.
